Peggy Hebert Obituary

Peggy Louise (Collins) Hebert, of Brookeland, TX passed away on September 19, 2022 surrounded by her family.

A Memorial Mass will be offered on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 10am, at St. Raymond's Catholic Church in Brookeland, TX - celebrated by Fr. Ronald Fushage.

Peggy Louise (Collins) Hebert was born in Port Arthur, TX to John "Jack" and Doris Collins on July 11, 1952. She was the 5th of 11 children for the Collins Clan. She attended Immaculate Conception Catholic School through Jr. High and graduated from Port Neches-Groves High School in 1972. She graduated Lamar University with a degree in Education in the spring of 1976. She married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Glen Edward Hebert on May 22, 1971 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Groves, Texas. They spent every moment of their lives together, living their vocation to Sacramental Marriage for 50 years and 6 months. They raised 6 children together in Bridge City, Texas where they were involved in all facets of their community and their church, St. Henry's. Peggy worked alongside Glen to serve the Church in many different parish assignments as a deacon's wife in all that vocation entails. Peggy's life was dedicated to children. She spent many years at home raising her family and many years teaching children of all ages from preschoolers in early education to high school Math. After she retired she enjoying doting on her 11 grandchildren. She volunteered at her local schools in her retirement and also spent many Mondays with Glen volunteering at the local food bank.

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents Jack and Doris Collins, her sister Pamela Reynolds, her brother Joe Collins and her beloved husband Glen Hebert.

Peggy is survived by her siblings: John (Tom) Collins, Frederick (Tim) Collins, James (Jim) Collins, Loretta (Theresa) Collins Franks, Mark Collins, Mary Collins McGuire, Michelle Collins Flocke, and Veronica (Ronnie) Collins Davis; her numerous nieces and nephews; her children: Brian Hebert, Dr. Stacy (& Kyle) Hebert-Schoener, Michael Hebert, Christy Hebert, Beth (and P.C.) Hebert Lauinger, and Luke (& Dr. Gina Duong) Hebert; and her grandchildren: Macon & Max Hebert; Alexandra, Hudson, Anneliese & Gus Schoener, Eve and Elizabeth Hutchins, Asher and Mark Lauinger, and Ernest Glen Duong Hebert.

Peggy's family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to everyone that supported her during her illness. Thank you to everyone who check on her, drove her to doctor's appointments and prayed for her well being-- especially her spiritual community at St. Raymond's and Fr. Ron and many friends in the neighborhood.

In memory of Peggy, we ask that you take a moment to hug your spouse, your child, your grandchildren or your friend-- take a walk in nature, take a picture of a sunset, bake a meal for a friend or take a moment in prayer. Time waits for no one.

Peggy was someone I admired and looked up to in high school. She was always upbeat, energetic, friendly and smiling. Only happy memories of that smile! May the Lord provide comfort and peace to you all.
