Dear Wanda and family,
Pete and I met in the Lamar Bookstore in 1976 as I was starting my business. Over the next 35+ years, Pete was a customer and friendly competitor. He was a constant source of encouragement and friendship. We had many long conversations about the book business but also about family. He was very proud of the boys and I enjoyed keeping up with them. Pete had a profound and lasting impact on me and many others in the college bookstore industry. We shared our Texas heritage proudly and I will miss him..
Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss.

Wanda and Boys,
We read with sadness Pete's obituary as we recalled our fun time of being neighbors on Viking Drive. We both have such admiration for your family and your tremendous success. Pete was a gentle tornado and we remember him with great fondness as we do you and , to us, "the boys". We were thrilled sometime ago when young Peter dropped by to see us. We know Pete's absence from your daily earthly life leaves a huge hole, but we also know that the richness of your life together will give you strength and courage to continue as he watches over you from above.
With love, Barbara and Mike Warren, Beaumont, Texas

I will always remember Pete's smile as he helped students at the Lamar University bookstore. May memories bring you comfort in the days ahead.

Wanda, I was sorry to learn of your loss. I have fond childhood memories of Pete. I know these past years have been hard on Pete, you and your family but I know you have many happy memories also. Love, Brenda Wilson Futrell Merritt Wallace, N. C.

Wanda & Family, My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. Pete is a kindhearted and generous soul and everytime I saw or spoke to him, even just thinking of him and his "Southern Hospitality" brings a smile to mind. He will be missed by many. May your memories bring you comfort. With my deepest sympathies, Take care, Barbara Sibree-Rodriguez (Bill Maloney's Asst. at Barnes and Noble College).
