Roy Wise Obituary

Roy Glenn Wise, 80, of Beaumont, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 29, 2010. Mr. Wise was born November 1, 1929 to Regal and Beatrice Wise in Pineland, TX. He had been a resident of Beaumont since 1942. He married Doris Loyd on April 7, 1951 in Buna. Mr. Wise was a self employed sign maker, owning and operating Glenn Wise Signs since 1965. He was also a part time minister and had preached at the Church of Christ in Buna, Vidor, Orange and West Orange. He was an elder of the Major Drive Church of Christ in Beaumont. Glenn loved to study his Bible, travel and work in the yard. He was preceded in death by his parents. His survivors include his wife, Doris Wise of Beaumont; 4 sons, Harrell Wise and wife Terry of Conroe, Gerald Wise and wife Candy of Katy, Rodney Wise of Orange, Wayne Wise and wife Paula of Lumberton; a brother, Troy Wise and wife Pat of Beaumont; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Thursday, July 1, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services are scheduled for Friday, July 2, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in the Garden of Faith at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
