Sidney Bourque Obituary

Sidney J. Bourque, 89, of Bridge City died Friday, March 30, 2012, at Senior Rehab in Port Arthur. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2012, at St. Henry Catholic Church in Bridge City with Reverend Steven Leger officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Born in Crowley, Louisiana on October 16, 1922, Sidney was the son of Hubert and Eve (Hargrave) Bourque. He served in Europe during WWII and was a member at St. Henry Catholic Church since 1954. Sidney enjoyed working in the garden, especially with his daylilies. Sidney is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marie Bourque; son, Sidney Sonny Bourque, Jr. and wife, Yolanda of New Braunfels; daughter, Jo Ann Davis and husband, Harry of Beaumont; grandchildren, Sidney Bourque, III, Alicia Hamilton and husband, Blaine; great-grandchildren, Aspen Hamilton and Ashton Bourque; brothers, Elton Adam Bourque, Hubert Bourque, Jr.; and special friend and caregiver, Jacob Monceaux. Serving as Pallbearers will be Sidney Bourque, III, Blaine Hamilton, Jacob Monceaux, Doug Monceaux, Freddy Howard and Andrew Cable. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bridge City Public Library, 101 Parkside Place Drive, Bridge City, Texas 77611 or St. Henry Catholic Church, 475 West Round Bunch Road, Bridge City, Texas 77611.
