After graduation from high school, Steve attended Texas A&M and graduated in 1971 with a Bachelor's degree in Sociology He had many jobs helping people - SEARCH homeless Center, State Parole Officer, Area Agency on Aging, massage therapist, etc. He found his true calling at age 50 when he became a Special Education Teacher at Milby High School. His love and compassion impacted many, but most profoundly his family. Steve was baptised at age 10 in the Baptist church, but after having their family Steve and Kathy were active members of Deer Park United Methodist Church, where he was uplifted and inspired.
