I was deeply saddened to learn of Bro. Tom's passing. I was a young boy growing up in Newgulf when I first met him and his family. He was our preacher and a true leader of not only our church, but our town as well. I grew up with his children and have tremendously fond memories of life in Newgulf, with the Baptist church being the center of our social and spiritual network.

I know beyond a shadow of a doubt, if it hadn't been for the Newgulf Baptist Youth Choir, under the direction of Bro. Tom, my life would have taken a different turn. Here some 35 plus years later, I still think about the songs we sang and the fun we had.

Bro. Tom I will miss you deeply. RIP

JUST heard the news today, March 27th. Bro. Hebert was my first preacher whom we all loved with great affection and admiration. I so wished, I had known to have attended the services. I have always considered him to be "my preacher", after all these many years. Condolences to the family in your loss. We shall all be together again, and oh, what a day that shall be!

No man had a greater impact on my life than Paw Bear. He truly loved his Lord and all people. He demonstrated daily what it truly meant to have a servant's heart. He was one of a kind and my life was forever changed because of him. I'll drink a cup of Seaport and remember him always.
