Ralph Hicks Obituary

Ralph Lee Hicks, 72 of Madison Heights, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Fairmont Crossing Health & Rehab Center in Amherst. He was born on Tuesday, April 10, 1945 in Lynchburg, a son of the late Lee Ernest Hicks and Cora Alice Deaner Hicks. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Earl F. Hicks &Warren H. Hicks. He loved dancing, singing and playing his guitar with his friends sharing his music with his church friends and local nursing homes. He is survived by his sister, Arlene H.K. Garrison of Hobe Sound, FL; his brother, David P. Hicks, Sr. of Huddleston; a daughter, Jennifer H. Dodgion; a son, Ralph E. Hicks; special friends, Sabrina Kirkpatrick & Russ Hilbert, Edwin Kirkpatrick, Margaret "Nita" Gibson, Eddie Ringo as well as a number of church friends, relatives, nieces and nephews & three grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at the graveside at Bethesda United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Rick Barton officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
