Shirley Hester Sparkman, age 77, of Sheffield, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013. Funeral services will be Sunday, Jan. 27, at 2 p.m., at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The family will receive friends for visitation from 1 until service time. The Rev. Jeff Newton, of Valdosta Baptist Church, and the Rev. Frank Sparkman, brother-in-law, will be officiating. Interment will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens.

Shirley was a native of Vina, Ala., but lived most of her life in Sheffield.

She was a graduate of Sheffield High School, class of 1954, and then went on to Business College. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and loved sewing.

Her parents, Thomas Edward and Florence Blackburn Hester, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband of fifty six years, Bobby R. Sparkman; daughter, Regina Sparkman Young; brother, James C. Hester (Mary); grandchildren, Brandi Alldredge (David), Alan Crafton and Chelsey Young; great-grandchildren, Caleb and Brandon Allredge and Aiden Bobby Fuller.

Pallbearers are Alan Crafton, Billy Parkes, Daniel Beggs, Jerry Sparkman, Troy Sparkman and Tony Sparkman.

Honorary Pallbearers are Fay Watson, James Hester, Richard Sparkman, Archie Kimbrough and Cecil Sparkman.

Shirley's family would like to express special appreciation to life long friends, Fay and Una Watson, Dr. McAnalley, Dr. Carmichael, the nurses and staff of Keller ICU and friends and family for your loving care given to our family.
