Andrew Perolio Obituary

Andrew Perolio Jr.

Andrew C. Perolio Jr., 83, of Rocklin, Calif., born June 6, 1927, in Belleville, Ill., died peacefully Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010, at his home.

At 17 years, Andrew quit high school and joined the Navy during World War II, serving on a TBM Avenger as a radioman/gunner. Upon discharge he returned to school, graduating from the University of Illinois with a five year BS in architectural engineering. After marrying and moving to Cupertino, Calif., he began his lifelong career as a California licensed architect, working statewide, especially in "Silicon Valley". He traveled extensively, but upon retirement in 1988, to Rocklin, Calif., he continued his other loves of fishing and golf. His accomplishments were many, but most importantly those of a good husband, a good father, a good grandfather and a good friend. He was greatly loved and will be sorely missed by all, but we are comforted knowing he is in the hands of our Lord.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Perolio and Mary Peinetti Perolio; and his brother, Gene Perolio of Alton, Ill.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, MaryAnn Baker Perolio; his children, Lyn Hart, Drew Perolio and Lee Perolio; his grandchildren, Michael and Jack Perolio, and Rachel and Ryan Hart; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Sacramento Valley Vitas Innovative Hospice Care, Freeway Blvd. office would be appreciated. For a memorial website of the "Life of Andy", please go to AndrewPerolioJr.com

Funeral: Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, Chapel in Santa Clara, Calif.

Lyn, Ryan & Rachel Hart

September 18, 2010

As we reflect on the wonderful memories of our joyful times with Dad or Grandpa, may our hearts be filled with comfort, knowing that he will be cherished and remembered forever and always. He will be in our thoughts, prayers and hearts throughout our daily lives, as he has made a significant contribution to the shaping of each of our lives. For this, we will always be grateful for celebrating and sharing life with a loved one who has gone home to the Lord. For this we thank Jesus, In His Mighty Name.

One of the most pleasant people I have ever met. We had a lot of laughs and a few terrible rounds of golf.

My deepest condolences to Mary Ann and family.
