Bertha Riebeling Obituary
Bertha Marie Riebeling, nee Schlemmer, 93, of Dupo, Ill., born Oct. 30, 1916, in Sugarloaf Township, Ill., died Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at her son's home in Waterloo, Ill.
Bertha was a member of Christ United Church of Christ in Dupo, Ill., former member of the Dupo Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the American Legion Post 485 Ladies Auxiliary. For many years, she and her husband owned the following businesses in Dupo: The Riebeling Service Station, Riebeling Variety Store and Dupo Dairyland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Riebeling, whom she married on Jan. 18, 1934, and who died in 1980; her parents, Frederick and Wilhelmina, nee Wernicke, Schlemmer; her friend and companion, Valentine Tattitch; her five brothers, William, Armin, Frederick, Sylvester and Adolph Schlemmer; and her three sisters, Anna Hoffmann, Alma Hasty-Roseman and Edna Kuni-Wagner.
Surviving are her son, Orval (Mary Lou) Riebeling; her two daughters, Evelyn (Larry) Lindhorst and Beverly Bivins; her ex son-in-law, Norman Bivins; her four grandchildren, Randy (Tonda) Lindhorst, Debra (Kenny) Nash, Travis (Christina) Bivins and Darius (Michelle) Bivins; her five great-grandchildren, Tiffany Bivins, Anthony Bivins, Logan Herring, Andrew Bivins, and Cody Bivins; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 21, 2010, and 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, May 22, 2010, at Dashner-Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 22, 2010, at Dashner-Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo, Ill., with Rev. Kim Kelly officiating. Burial will be at Valhalla Gardens of Memory in Belleville, Ill.
