Brennen Willis Obituary

Brennen Willis

Brennen "Bryn" Scott Willis, 28, of O'Fallon, Illinois, passed away on Monday, May 21, 2018, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Bryn was born November 8th, 1989, at the General Leonard Wood Hospital in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, to Susan and the late Richard Henry Dunning Willis IV.

Bryn had an adventurous spirit, a generous heart and was never without a smile. If you had the honor of knowing Bryn, you felt what it was like to be in the presence of someone truly special. He had an infectious personality and could bring happiness to any situation. He was someone who would embrace you as a friend, even if it was the first time that you met him. Bryn was an incredibly caring and attentive son, brother, uncle and friend to many and we are all better for having known him.

Bryn was preceded in death by his father, Richard Henry Dunning Willis IV; his grandparents, Richard Henry Dunning III and Norma Willis; Dr. Fredric "Doc" Walter Reitz and his aunt Elizabeth Mary Reitz.

He is survived by his mother, Susan "Sue" Willis, his brother and sister, Richard "Rick" Henry Dunning (Jessica) Willis V, and Elizabeth "Libby" Willis, his nephew/Godson and niece, Richard Henry Dunning VI and Lillian Vere Willis, and his grandmother, Mary Reitz. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the "Bryn Willis Memorial Fund" at the Bank of O'Fallon, to be shared between Missing Pieces Network (an organization that offers support to victims and families of missing persons) and a permanent memorial yet to be determined.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, May 25, 2018, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 625 St. Nicholas Street, O'Fallon, and after 9 am, Saturday, May 26, 2018, at the church.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 26, 2018, at the church, with Msgr. William J. Hitpas presiding. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Shiloh, Illinois.
