Bruce Maddaleno

Bruce Maddaleno, 57, of Okawville, Ill., born July 29, 1954, in Limestone, Maine, departed this life at the home of his sister in Okawville, Ill., at 1:10 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Bruce was a 1972 graduate of Okawville High School. He worked at Weigmans Electrical Service in Freeburg, Ill. He was a member of the Olive Branch Lutheran Church in Okawville, Ill. He loved shooting his guns and going duck hunting. He also enjoyed studying astronomy.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria, nee Pugh, Maddaleno.

Surviving are his father, John Maddaleno of West Frankfort; a son, Josh Maddaleno and his wife, Shannon of Hillsboro, Ill.; a sister and a brother, Tina Maddaleno and Joe Maddaleno, both of Okawville, Ill.; and three grandchildren, Ethan, Carsen and Avery Maddaleno.

Memorials may be made to the Olive Branch Lutheran Church and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home of Okawville, Ill. Online expressions of sympathy may be made at www.campagnafuneralhomes.com.

Funeral: A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, at the Olive Branch Lutheran Church in Okawville with Pastor Hans Trinklein officiating.

In accordance with the wishes of Bruce, cremation will be performed. Interment of ashes will be in the church cemetery.
