Carolyn O'Connor Obituary
Carolyn B. O'Connor, nee Ridenhour, 68, of New Athens, Ill., born Thursday, April 17, 1947, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Sunday, Jan. 17, 2016, at River Crossing Rehabilitation in Galesburg, Ill.
Carolyn worked as a clerk for the grant department for St. Clair County. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. O'Connor; parents, Herman and Elizabeth, nee Hart, Ridenhour Sr.; and sisters, Helen Combs and Phillis Smith.
Surviving are her children, Elizabeth (Joe Phegley) Proctor of Fairview Heights, Ill., and Robert G. O'Connor Jr. of Arizona; two grandchildren, Riley Proctor and Noah Proctor; brother, Herman (Doris) Ridenhour Jr. of Troy, Mo.; and dear nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Visitation: Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25, 2016, at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25, 2016, at Kurrus Funeral Home, with Rev. Larry Patton officiating. Interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.

I am so sorry for your loss. I never met your mother but I do know her daughter and so I feel I know her. I pray that in time the hurt will ease and you will grow to understand your mother will always be by your side and she will always have your back.
