Carrie Stacey Obituary
Carrie Sue Stacey, 78, of Granite City, Ill., born Jan. 1, 1938, in Dover, Tenn., passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was a member of Unity Baptist Church, formerly Third Baptist Church of Granite City.
Sue enjoyed reading, volunteering, visiting friends and relatives, and entertaining them with her piano playing. She will be remembered for her love and devotion to her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her many lifelong friendships.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Sonny" Stacey, whom she married on June 6, 1954, in Corinth, Miss., and who died in 2006; parents, Wilson J. and Viola, nee Sykes, Carney; an infant son; and a sister, Arminda Colp.
Surviving are her daughter, Kathy (Keith) Antoff of Granite City; two sons, Jeffrey Stacey of Granite City and Michael Stacey of Gillespie, Ill.; six grandchildren, Amy (Tameka Chalmers) Schillinger, Adam (Lucia) Schillinger, Alex (Jill) Schillinger and Eddie (Melanie) Schillinger, Ryan Antoff and Michael Stacey; five great-grandchildren, Lennon, Myles, Maya, Cormac and Matthias Schillinger; a sister, Elizabeth Ann Kusmierczak of Glen Carbon; and a special friend, Imogene Revelle.

Visitation: A memorial visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2016, at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory in Granite City, Ill.
Funeral: A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2016, at the funeral home with Rev. Mark Powell officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery on Maryville Road in Granite City, Ill.

Kathy,
I just wanted to express my deepest sympathy to you, Ann, and the rest of your family on the passing of your mother. I would be amazed at your mother playing the piano at Stearns Nursing when I came to visit Dorothy Valerius and Adeline Decker almost every day. She was a wonderful lady. I did not find out of her passing until today, Sunday, July 24th. God Bless you all at this trying time.
