Charles Wenner

Charles R. Wenner, 81, of Collinsville, Illinois, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2018. He was born November 27, 1936, in St. Louis, Missouri to Charles F. and Isabel (Hepp) Wenner. He married Bonnie Lee (Gerdes) Wenner on September 1, 1956.

Charles was preceded in death by wife, Bonnie; and two brothers; Kenneth Wenner and Melvyn Wenner.

He is survived by daughter, Julie (Kent) Nungesser of Highland, Illinois; grandchildren, Jennifer Hedger of Collinsville, Illinois, Katherine Hedger of Collinsville, Illinois and Mariah (Matt Farnworth) Hedger of Collinsville, Illinois; great-grandchildren; Andrew Lewis, Danielle Lewis and Grayson Farnsworth.

Charles worked for the Norfolk and Southern Railroad as a Clerk. He also was active in the Missouri Air National Guard and was a retired member of the Swansea Fire Department. He was a member of St. Stephen's Church, Caseyville, IL, and St. Stephen's Mens Club.

Visitation: Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at Herr Funeral Home, 501 W. Main, Collinsville, Illinois.

Funeral: Funeral will be held at noon at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 207 Vandalia Street, Collinsville, Illinois.

Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, Illinois.
