Charlotte Boman Obituary

Charlotte Boman
Charlotte F. Boman, of St. Louis, Mo., a courageous woman whose soul was released on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, after fighting an insurmountable illness.
Charlotte was the beloved wife of Richard Tao and an adoring and loving mother to Meara Tao. She was a daughter of Virginia Boman and the late Howard Boman; sister of Catherine Beauheim and John Boman; daughter-in-law of William and Anne Tao; and a sister-in-law of Peter Tao and Helen Lee and David and Mary Tao. Charlotte was also an aunt, cousin and friend to many.
Charlotte will be remembered as a master gardener and volunteer at the Missouri Botanical Gardens, an accomplished pianist, a graduate of Washington University and Indiana University and a formidable intellect. Charlotte was known for her candor; she was honest and forthright, qualities that give her the extraordinary ability to provide counsel and insight to others. Those of us who know and love her understand that her life on earth was a gift to those around her - a gift of self awareness, veraciousness and above all, deep and abiding love and compassion for her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Missouri Botanical Gardens, Tribute Fund, Box 299, St. Louis, Mo., 63166-0299 or by calling the Garden at 314-577-5118, or the Churchill School, 1035 Price School Lane, St. Louis, Mo., 63124.

Funeral: A service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, at Graham Chapel on Washington University campus. A reception will follow at the Whittemore House, 6440 Forsyth Boulevard.
