Daniel Matysik Obituary
Daniel J. "Dan" Matysik, 63, of Swansea, IL, born January 10, 1955, in Belleville, IL, died Monday, February 26, 2018, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.
Dan worked at the Apartment Community Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows. He was a member of St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church and was an usher at church. Dan enjoyed going to many local sporting events, including football and basketball games.
Dan was preceded in death by his father, Leo W. Matysik; and a brother, Thomas Matysik.
Surviving are his mother, DoraAnn, "Teddy" nee Rolves, Matysik of Swansea, IL; a sister, Jeandra (David) Conzelman of Belleville, IL; a sister-in-law, Janet Matysik of Swansea, IL; six nieces and nephews, Shane (Liz) Conzelman, Tiffany (Michael) Marcinkowski, Lynne (Chris) Engelage, Brian (Gina) Matysik, David (Daniele) Matysik, and Brenna (Amanda) Matysik; and a special cousin, Susan Sarfaty.
Dan had a good positive outlook while being treated for Leukemia. The family would like to thank his co-workers at the Apartment Community for their generosity and support.
Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Association or to Leukemia Research Foundation. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.
Visitation: Friends may visit from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2018, at St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2018, at St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with Msgr. William McGhee officiating.
Private burial will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
