David Nappier Obituary

David Nappier
David Neal Nappier, 60, of Caseyville, formerly of Granite City, Ill., and Madison, Ill., born Jan. 11, 1949, in St. Louis, Mo., passed from this life on Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City, Ill.
Mr. Nappier worked for Boeing for 25 years as a senior lab technician where he earned eight patents. He was a U.S. Army veteran who had served in Vietnam in the 134th Aviation Battalion. He was a member of Alton VFW Post 1308 and in his spare time loved to build his hot rods and his bikes.
David was preceded in death by his parents, David E. and Florence, nee Kandlbinder, Nappier.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy, nee Snowden, Nappier, whom he married Sept. 21, 1973, at Zion United Methodist Church in Gasconade County, Mo.; sons, sons, John (Jennifer) Nappier of Granite City, Ill., and Dave (Elizabeth) Nappier of Waterloo, Ill.; five grandchildren, David Stanley, Anne Elyse and Ethan Josep Nappier, all of Waterloo, Ill., Audrey Lynn and Blake Brendan Nappier of Granite City, Ill.; brothers, James (Fran) Nappier of Moro, Ill., and Charles Nappier of East Alton, Ill.; and sister, Etta Rubin of Connecticut.
Memorials are suggested to the Illinois Veterans Association.

Visitation: Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 3, 2009, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road, Granite City, Ill.

Funeral: Graveside funeral service with full military honors will be held t 1 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2009, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo.

We extend our condolences and prayers to the Nappier family. He may have plucked us out of Harms Way several times in VN. GRITS (The Great Ranger In The Sky) has a special place for Warriors and I know David is smiling down on all of us. Rest in Peace Warrior.
