Carma Love Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kurrus Funeral Home - Belleville on Feb. 3, 2026.
Carma LeAnn Love, nee Braundmeier, 55, of Caseyville, IL, born Wednesday, January 20, 1971, in Granite City, IL, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2026 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in O Fallon, IL.

Carma was a devoted nurse, educator, and endlessly creative spirit whose life was marked by service, generosity, and joy. For more than 31 years, Carma served as a Post Partum nurse at Anderson Hospital, where she cared for countless mothers and newborns with compassion, skill, and a steady, reassuring presence. Her work was not just a profession, but a calling-one she fulfilled with grace and deep commitment.

In addition to her clinical career, Carma was proud to serve as an Instructor for the School of Nursing at SIU-Edwardsville. She shared her knowledge freely, shaping and inspiring future generations of nurses through her patience and encouragement. Her influence lives on in the many students she mentored and the families they now serve.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Carma was known as one of the most creative people you would ever meet. She found joy in crafting, planning thoughtful and memorable parties, and hunting for the perfect bargain. Thrift shopping was one of her great pleasures-she loved the thrill of a great deal and had a remarkable talent for turning the simplest find into something beautiful and meaningful. Her creativity, eye for detail, and love of celebration brought warmth and color to the lives of those around her.

In her final act of selflessness, Carma gave the gift of life through organ donation, a reflection of the generosity and compassion that defined her life and career. Her legacy lives on not only in the many lives she touched, taught, and cared for, but also in those she helped through this extraordinary gift.

Carma will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Surviving are her husband, Laren Love of Caseyville, IL, children, Brett (Meagan) Love of San Tan Valley, AZ, Victoria (Christopher) Cox of O Fallon, IL, grandchildren, Carter, Cash, Harvey, Wilder, Birdie, Charlotte, father, Kenneth Braundmeier of Maryville, IL, mother, Bonnie Braundmeier of Maryville, IL, sister, Holly Pecher of Maryville, IL, sister-in-law, Denise (Dave) Larsen of Maryville, IL, and many dear nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Memorials: Memorials may be made to the SHARE Anderson Hospital, SIUE School of Nursing or the Nurses Honor Guard.

Service will be held privately.

I was so sorry to hear this. We lost touch years ago, but she had been on my mind lately and I should've reached out. We were best friends when we were growing up and spent many hours at each other's homes making lots of silly memories. I am so sorry for your loss of a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. It is truly unbelievable that she is gone.

Dear family, Carma was a force for good. She was very talented and had a very quiet spirit about her. I miss the time we all spent together at City Temple Curch. It still feels like family.
I'm so sorry for your loss. It's huge. I pray God keeps you comforted and hold you close to Him during this difficult time. God be with you.
