Collinsville, Illinois - Delores "Chris" Mary Hanvey, 92, of Collinsville, IL, peacefully passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on December 1, 1932, in Highland, IL, to the late Albert and Agnes (nee Bircher) Kustermann. In her younger years, Chris worked as a secretary for a law firm.
A lifelong member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville, Chris was also active in the Ladies of the Knights of Columbus and volunteered with Faith in Action. She was devoted to her faith, her family, and her community, always taking care of others and cherishing every moment spent with her grandchildren.
On November 9, 1963, she married the love of her life, Jack Hanvey. They shared 55 wonderful years together before his passing in 2019.
Chris is survived by her two daughters, Mary Hanvey of Collinsville, IL, and Annette (Len) Herdt of St. Peters, MO; her beloved grandchildren, Collin and Marissa; and two sisters, Marie Martin and Linette Cogle.
Services were held on Friday, November 14, 2025 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville celebrated by Father Michael Haag. Burial is in SS Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery, Collinsville, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to SS Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery or BJC Hospice. Memorials may be sent to Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
