Dennis Metz

Dennis Frank Metz, age 56, of Rockaway Beach, Mo., formerly of O'Fallon, Ill., born Aug. 15, 1954, in Belleville, Ill., died April 27, 2011, at Skaggs Regional Medical Center, Branson, Mo.

Dennis attended St. Clare grade school and was a 1972 graduate of O'Fallon Township High School. He learned his mechanic trade at Bailey's Vocational School in St. Louis, Mo., and retired from Clark Forklifts of St. Louis. His dream upon retirement was to move to Branson where he could enjoy fishing, barbecuing, listening to good ol' country music, and enjoying the simple life of spending time with his friends. He spent the last three years living this dream. He was a loving father and husband, generous with his time, living life to the fullest.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas Frank and Dorothy Barbara, nee Siegel, Metz.

Surviving are his wife, Brenda, nee Loper, Metz of Rockaway Beach, Mo.; his son, Jason (Penny) Metz of O'Fallon, Ill.; his daughter, Brandy Metz of O'Fallon, Ill.; his grandchildren, Austin, Savannah, Casarah, Caylob, and Hayden Metz; and his sister, Diane (Robert) Hill of Freeburg, Ill.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2011, and from 9 to 10 am Monday, May 2, 2011, at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, O'Fallon, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday, May 2, 2011, at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, O'Fallon, Ill., with the Rev. James Deiters officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Shiloh, Ill.
