Donelda Smith

Donelda L. Smith, nee Schroeder, 77, of Steelville, Mo., formerly of Collinsville, Ill., born July 11, 1938, in Granite City, Ill., passed away Saturday, June 25, 2016, at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis, Mo.

Mrs. Smith was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Smith; a daughter, Debra Parrish; a granddaughter, Toni Michelle Arney; and a sister, Cecilia Alonso.

Surviving are her children, Marie A. Smith of Steelville, Mo., Robert (Dove) Arney of Arizona, John Gossett of Belleville, Ill., Donald (Diane Smith) Gossett of Collinsville, Ill., and Michael Smith of Wood River, Ill.; her grandchildren, Danny Hill, Christina Hill, Jennifer Gossett, Michael Smith, Jr., Donald Gossett, Jr., Robert Joseph Arney, Kelli Gossett, Justin Gossett, Tara Parrish and Patsy Shaner; her great-grandchildren, Justice Hill, Cierra Ventura, Nickaleana Ventura, Dayton Shaw, Geno Shaw, Kaylee Hill, Serenity Hill, Amiyah Hill, Anthony Gossett, Tristin Smith, Braidyn Sadkowski, Seth Gossett, Wyatt Petty, Mercedes Gossett, Donald Gossett III, Julia Gossett and Drake Gossett; two brothers, Douglas Schroeder of Kentucky and Karl Schroeder of Glen Carbon, Ill.; and a sister, Dorothy Morrison of Granite City, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2016, at Herbert A. Kassly Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill., with Rev. Ron Habermehl officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery, Collinsville, Ill.
