Doris Crummitt-Brock

Doris Y. Brock, nee Staiger, 81, of Denison, Texas, formerly of Collinsville, Ill., born Feb. 1, 1935, in East St. Louis, Ill., passed away Saturday, April 2, 2016, at her residence.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Leon Crummitt, Jr., whom she married on July 1, 1959 in Edwardsville, Ill.; a daughter, Debbie Crummitt; her parents, Theodore William and Samantha Elizabeth, nee Gregory, Staiger; and two brothers, Paul and William Staiger.

Doris met her husband, Willie on the internet through Christian Mingle, and had a wonderful whirlwind romance for three months, after which he went to Illinois and they got married on Sept. 6, 2014, in Collinsville, Ill. They were like two teenagers, very happy and in love with each other.

Surviving are her husband, Willis M. Brock; sons, Chuck (Emma) Murphy of Glen Carbon, Ill., Terry (Carla) Crummitt of Collinsville, Ill., and David (Darla) Brock of Denison, Tex.; daughters, Karen (Joe) Hornacek of Caseyville, Ill., Sherri (Dean Wilson) Fencl of Collinsville, Ill., and Donna (Mike) Guthrie of Denison, Texas; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2016, at Herbert A. Kassly Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2016, at Herbert A. Kassly Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill., with Pastor Steve McKinney officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.
