Dorothy Billhartz Obituary
Dorothy A. Billhartz, nee Wilhelm, 74, of Belleville, Ill., born Feb. 5, 1932, in Mascoutah, Ill., died Monday, Jan. 8, 2007, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Dorothy formerly worked at McDonalds Laundromat for 29 years. She was a member of St. Teresa Church and Shiloh Eagles Auxiliary. She was an avid bingo player and also enjoyed bowling, playing cards and spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Dale Billhartz; son-in-law, Dean Travous; parents, Louis and Anna Wilhelm; her brothers, Norbert and Rich Wilhelm; brothers-in-law, Wilbert "Bud," Earl, Clarence and Tom Billhartz, Alvin Wobbe and Rich Rakers; sisters-in-law, Emma Lee Wilhelm and Marcella Rakers.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years,, Donald Billhartz; daughters, Donna (Tom) Tebeau of Freeburg, Ill., Denise (Don) Byrd of Peoria, Ariz.; son, Dean (Julie) Billhartz of Mascoutah, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Dan (Courtney) Travous and Darren(Shana) Travous both of New Baden, Ill., Donnie Byrd of Tucson, Ariz., Dustin Byrd of Peoria, Ariz., Brandon, Justin and Lauren Billhartz of Mascoutah, Ill.; five great-grandchildren, Dean and Grace Travous, Savannah Macke, Dylan and Ryan Byrd; a sister, Frances Wobbe of Belleville, Ill.; a brother, Raymond Wilhelm of Mascoutah, Ill.; brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Janet Billhartz of O'Fallon, Ill., Michael and Nancy Billhartz of Smithton, Ill., Mary and William Bard of Renton, Wash., Leona Billhartz of O'Fallon, Ill., Mary Billhartz of New Baden, Ill.; numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and many special friends.
Dorothy was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Memorials may be made to Family Hospice of Belleville.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007, at Pete Gaerd-ner Funeral Home Belleville, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Thurs-day, Jan. 11, 2007, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Belleville, Ill., with the Rev. Von Deeke officiating. Inter-ment will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
