Dorothy Carle
Dorothy A. Carle, nee Lemen, 94, of Columbia, Ill., born Jan. 2, 1911, died Saturday, April 23, 2005, at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Town & Country, Mo.
Mrs. Carle was a member of Columbia Senior Citizens, Jefferson County V.F.W. Auxiliary, and had been a Jefferson Barracks VA Hospital volunteer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Carle, whom she married April 18, 1927, and who died Aug. 23, 1979; her son, Louis (Marjorie) Carle; two brothers, Sylvester and Harvey Lemen; a sister in infancy; a great-grandchild, Amy Buss; and her parents, James and Margaret, nee Buettner, Lemen.
Surviving are her two sons, John J. (Linda) Carle of Columbia, Ill. and Arthur G. (JoAnn) Carle of St. Louis, Mo.; her daughter, Margaret (Ron) Wallace of Belleville, Ill.; nine grandchildren, Michelle (Mike) Luhr, Steven Wallace, Kevin (Peggy) Carle, Carole (Delbert) Paris, Linda (Jeff) Buss, Rita Wallace, John J. Carle Jr., Elizabeth Wallace, and Michael (Julie) Carle; 15 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, Immaculate Conception Church Building Fund, or Christ Community Church Building Fund.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2005 at the Lawlor Funeral Home, Columbia, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at the Lawlor Funeral Home with the Rev. William Groennert and the Rev. Carl Scherrer officiating. Burial will be at Evangelical St. Paul Cemetery, Columbia, Ill.
