Lebanon, Illinois - Edith M. Dallas, 93, of O'Fallon, IL, born on May 12, 1930, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2023, at Cedar Ridge Healthcare Center in Lebanon, IL.
Edith was born in O'Fallon, IL, to Charles and Francis Dallas. After fulfilling her education, she began her career as a teacher at William Holliday School. As a young woman, she was a world traveler and very committed to her church and Baptist Faith. Edith was also a Red Hat Society member.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Francis Dallas (nee Johnson); one brother, James Dallas; and two sisters, Edna Pickern and Jean Ohl.
Edith is survived by a sister, Dorothy Macknight of O'Fallon, IL; one sister-in-law, Georgia Dallas of Colorado; three nieces, Lynn Ohl of O'Fallon, IL, Gail Hook of Chicago, IL, Peggy (Gary) Moeller of Red Bud, IL; three nephews, Michael Pickern of Florida, Danny (Ginger) Pickern of Florida, Ronald (Marisa McGavran) Macknight of Wentzville, MO; one godson, Brian Moeller; and several great and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to Belleville Area Humane Society; https://www.bahspets.org. Condolences may be extended to the family online at www.schildknechtfh.com.
A visitation will take place on Monday, August 28, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Schildknecht Funeral Home; 301 S. Lincoln Ave., O'Fallon, IL 62269.
Funeral services will begin on Monday, August 28, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Schildknecht Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Moeller officiating. Burial will be at O'Fallon City Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Schildknecht Funeral Home.
