Elizabeth Joniak Obituary
Elizabeth G. "Betty" Joniak, nee Witzel, 79, of Cahokia, IL, born on October 24, 1938, in Bronx, NY, died on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at Four Fountains, Belleville, IL.
Elizabeth worked as a Wal-Mart greeter for 13 years. She was also a longtime member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Cahokia, IL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Joniak, Jr.; her daughter, Theresa Joniak; her parents, John C. and Mary E. Joniak, nee Witzel; and her siblings, Larry Witzel, Pauline Witzel and Dorothy Witzel.
Elizabeth is survived by her children, Louis (Elizabeth) Joniak of League City, TX, David Joniak of Dupo, IL, Dorothy "Dot" Walker of Cahokia, IL, and Vincent Joniak of Cahokia, IL; her grandchildren, Timothy Joniak, Benjamin Joniak, Chanae Joniak, Jessica Joniak, Brad Joniak, Angie Bloomfield, Jennifer Kirgan, Chrissy Joniak, Victoria (Walker) Pottmeyer, Mark Walker and Jeff Lattimer; and her 18 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.kasslyfuneral.com.
Visitations: Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2018, at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Dupo, IL.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Dupo, IL, with Fr. Linus Umoren officiating.
Interment in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
