Elsie Dubach
Elsie Y. Dubach, 90, of Highland, Ill., born Nov. 26, 1914, in Highland, Ill., died Friday, April 15, 2005, at St. Joseph Hospital, Highland, Ill.
Mrs. Dubach was born west of Highland, Ill., south of the old Steinkoenig Country School. She grew up on a farm east of Highland. She had worked at the old A & P Store, Bess Cleaners and for many years at the old Tschannen's Drug Store. She enjoyed being with her husband at the Highland Pistol & Rifle Club, and also enjoyed going for drives with family and friends. Her dogs were her children and she pampered them. She was an avid Bingo Player. She was a member of St. Jacob United Church of Christ, United Food and Commercial Workers Union and the AARP.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer R. Dubach, whom she married May 1, 1954, and who died Oct. 5, 1990; her parents, Jacob G. and Grace M., nee Gathard, Steinkoenig; and a brother, Wilbur L. Steinkoenig.
Surviving are four nephews, Kenneth P. (Judy) Steinkoenig of West Plains, Mo., Joseph J. (Lil) Steinkoenig of Willow Springs, Mo., Gerald W. (Marge) Steinkoenig of Highland, Ill., and John C. (Sue) Steinkoenig of Lebanon, Ill.; two nieces, Donna L. Fencl of Fairview Heights, Ill., and Marilyn G. (Wayne) Haukapp of O'Fallon, Ill.; 19 great-nieces and great-nephews; numerous great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, and a dear family friend, Bernice Pruitt of Highland, Ill.
Memorials may be made to Highland Animal Shelter or donor's choice.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2005, and from 8 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2005, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home, Highland, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2005, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home Funeral Home, Highland, Ill., with the Rev. Gary Kniepkamp officiating. Burial will be in Keystone Cemetery, St. Jacob, Ill.
