Francisco Dioneda Obituary
Francisco Basa Dioneda, M.D., 91, of Granite City, Ill., born April 25, 1924, in Bicol, Philippines, died Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015, at his home.
Dr. Dioneda, a general practitioner and surgeon on the staff at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, retired from private practice after 33 years in 1993. He finished his medical education at St. Tomas University, in Manila, Philippines. He went through a rotating internship and residency at Lutheran Hospital and Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. Dr. Dioneda was a former president of the Madison County Medical Society and the Tri-City Medical Society. He had been chief of the Medical Staff at SEMC, chief of the SEMC Department of Family Practice and a member of various committees of the medical center. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of Roosevelt Bank, Elks Lodge 1063 in Granite City, and Holy Family Catholic Church, Granite City.
Dr. Dioneda was preceded in death by his parents, Victoriano and Mercedes, nee Basa, Dioneda; brothers, Salvador, Roque, and Angel Dioneda; and sisters, Jean Reyes and Lulu Tanedo.
Surviving are his wife of nearly 60 years, Donna Marie, nee Ford, Dioneda; sons, Steven "Ann" Dioneda of Webster Groves, Mo., Kerry Dioneda of Roscoe, Ill., Randy Dioneda of Roscoe, Ill., and Greg "Kari" Dioneda of Granite City, Ill.; sisters, Lily Hernandez of St. Johns, Ind., Ramona Williams of Pasay City, Philippines; ten grandchildren; and five great- grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church.
Visitation: Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26, 2015, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2606 Washington Ave., Granite City, Ill. 62040.
Funeral: Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26, 2015, at the church with Rev. Jeff Holtman, officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Edwardsville, Ill.

Started going to Dr. Dioneda when he first started his practice in Granite City. He delivered both of my girls and I always thought the world of him and Donna.
