St. Augustine, Florida - Gary L. Gibson, 74, of St. Augustine, FL passed away on December 30, 2021. He was born in East St. Louis, IL and graduated from University of Northern Iowa where he played baseball. He completed the Advanced Transportation Program at Northwestern University and also earned an Executive MBA from the University of Tennessee. During his 40-year professional career he served in various roles at CSX Transportation, the Canadian National Railway and the Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad.
Gary is survived by his wife of 54 years, Vicki; a brother, Terry (Joy) Gibson of Collinsville, IL. and their sons and grandchildren: Neil (Lisa) Gibson, Seth and Shayna Giles of Germantown, TN and Ron (Jodi) Gibson, Sam, Tyler and Kate of Yulee, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Delbert Gibson of Collinsville, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN or K9s for Warriors in Ponte Vedre Beach, FL. Plans for a private service are pending.
