George Argus
George Phillip Argus, 54, of Cahokia, Ill., born May 2, 1950, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Ill.
Mr. Argus was owner operator of G & G Cleaning of Cahokia, Ill. He was formerly employed by Centreville Township, Bobcat of St. Louis, Mo., Wagner Buick of Belleville, Ill., American Motors and Paylater Auto Sales of Cahokia, Ill., Dr. Basga Bernard of Belleville, Ill., Gary Thomas Accounting of Belleville, Ill., Concept Realty of Columbia, Ill., and Chuck Baer Realty of Cahokia, Ill. Mr. Argus loved stock car racing, fishing and camping.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Charles and Cora Virginia, nee Aubuchon, Argus Sr.; a brother, Leonard Charles Argus Jr.; two brothers-in-law, Joe Harper and William "Red" Hembree; and a sister-in-law, Gerry Argus.
Surviving are his wife, Gloria J., nee Grimm, Argus; three children, Phillip (Debbie) Argus of Evansville, Ill., and Christine and Sabrina Argus, both at home; two brothers, Jack (Mary) Argus of Belleville, Ill., and Emmett (Pat) Argus Sr. of Evansville, Ill.; two sisters, Betty Harper of New Athens, Ill., and Emily Hembree of Belleville, Ill.; and three grandchildren, Corey, Brittany and Courtney. He was a dear brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14, 2005, at Braun Colonial Funeral Home, Cahokia, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral procession is to leave at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005, from Braun Colonial Funeral Home, Cahokia, Ill., for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Cahokia, Ill., with Father Mark Reyling officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
