Belleville, Illinois - George Frederick Becker III passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at the age of 68. George was born in Granite City, Illinois to George Frederick Becker Jr. and Mary Jane Becker (nee Goforth) on January 9, 1953. George had a passion for working with his hands. His professions included welding, journeyman electrician for Granite City Steel, and electrical inspector for the City of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing, watching the Cardinals play, remodeling his homes and working on his many motorcycles. He spent many hours taking bike trips across the country or cruising around in his Corvette.
George was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 31 years, Mary Becker, and both of his parents.
He is survived by 6 children: Kathleen "Cass" McCauley, Brendan (Elena) McCauley, Kim (James) Labonte, Nikky (Adam) Stamp, Kristen (John) Jenkins, and George "Joe" (Jennifer) Becker; 13 grandchildren: Anton (Pegah) Taylor, Kristina Taylor, Robin McCauley, Kathleen (Kyle) Swinscoe, Alexandra "Sasha" McCauley, Alyssa Labonte, Abigail Labonte, Ella Stamp, Issac Stamp, Molly Stamp, Eva Jane Jenkins, Kristian Brown, and Dominick Gross; and two brothers Gregory (Becca) Becker and Matthew (Julie) Becker, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will be hosting a private graveside service at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Shiloh, IL 62269.
