Belleville, Illinois - Geraldine Ann Pabst, nee Holten, of Belleville, Illinois, born July 31, 1932, in East St. Louis, Illinois, died Thursday, May 19, 2022, at Dammert Geriatric Center, Belleville, Illinois.
Jerry attended St. Elizabeth's Grade School, St. Patrick's Grade School, and graduated from St. Teresa Academy in East St. Louis, Illinois - Class of 1950. Jerry worked at Courtney's Drug Store during her high school years as a cashier. She then went on to work as a secretary at various companies throughout her life, her most recent place of employment being The Shrine Restaurant in Belleville, Illinois.
Jerry was the ultimate mom and grandmother. She loved cooking and always enjoyed hosting large holiday celebrations with extended family. She relished cheering on her kids and grandkids at basketball games, baseball games, soccer games, etc. being a bit of a tomboy herself. In East St. Louis, Jerry grew up playing pick-up baseball at Park Grade School, riding bikes on the sidewalks of her neighborhood, and cheerleading for St. Teresa's. She was also an avid and loyal Cardinals' fan.
Jerry was preceded in death by her husband, Garvin L. Pabst, her parents, Julius Dewey Sr. and Anna Holten, nee Eisele; her brother and sister-in-law, J. Dewey Jr. (Rosemary) Holten; and sister, Marguerite Holten.
Surviving Jerry are her sister-in-law, Beverly Pabst Crotzer; her children, Pam Pabst (Jeff) Miller, Terry (Darla) Pabst, Kip Pabst, Lisa Pabst (Travis) Arends, and Leslie Pabst (Lance) Weiss; fifteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Dolores and Bill Gray.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady Queen of Peace School and Church, Belleville, Illinois, https://qofp.weshareonline.org/ and/or Dammert Geriatric Center, Belleville, Illinois https://giving.benedictineliving.org/. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.
Visitation: Friends may visit from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.
Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with Monsignor Jack McEvilly officiating.
Burial will be at Valhalla Gardens of Memory and Mausoleum, Belleville, Illinois, immediately following the mass.
