Obituary
William Gale Pabst
William Gale Pabst came into the world on November 1, 1933, in the small farming community of Lorenzo, Idaho. He was born to Clarence William Pabst and Wilda Hall Pabst.
He was blessed with siblings; Geraldine (Morgan), Calvin, Brent, Sandra (Thorngren) and Clarene (Hansen). Gale, along with his siblings, worked hard alongside their parents and was very saddened when their father Clarence suddenly passed. Gale was only 15 at the time, and he and his siblings took responsibility for keeping the farm going. He claimed that he learned to cuss while milking cows!
His family and extended family meant the world to him! He loved his aunts, uncles, cousins, and childhood friends. When Gale left this earth, he had a multitude of nieces, nephews, and friends that loved and adored him. His ability to make others feel loved and needed was amazing. He could get a chuckle out of anyone. He had tremendous love for his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He attended elementary school in Lorenzo and high school in Rigby, Idaho. He was part of the boxing club at Rigby and a photo of him boxing was posted in the Post Register.
He married the love of his life, Beverly Joan Lowder, in Labell, Idaho on October 26, 1956. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple.
Because of Gales's work ethic and his great ability to get along with others, he made a great employee and employer. His work in construction and carpentry led him and Beverly to various states across the country. Everywhere they went, they acquired lasting friendships. They mostly raised their children in the Rigby and Post Falls area, but enjoyed living in
Green River, WY,
Boston, MA,
Davis, CA and spending the last year of their lives in
Blackfoot, Idaho.
Gale enjoyed visiting with friends and family, traveling, carpentry, painting, playing the harmonica, reading, and in his later years playing bingo and puzzles.
Gale was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a Sunday schoolteacher, scout master, and a high council member in Boston, Coeur d' Alene and Davis Ca. He was set apart as the first bishop of a Post Falls, Idaho ward. He was so overwhelmed when the apostle Mark E. Peterson set him apart as Bishop.
Gale is survived by his children; Gail Ann (David) Parmenter of Firth, Diane Marshall of Idaho Falls, Robert (Sue) Pabst of Eugune, Oregon, Ryan (Nancy) Pabst of Sacramento, California and Becky (Gary) Yancey of Blackfoot; his siblings, Brent Pabst of Rigby, Sandra Thorngren of Menan, and Calvin Pabst of Coeur d' Alene; 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Beverly Joan, two granddaughters, Kassi Herrick and Kylee Herrick, and siblings, Geraldine Morgan and Clarene Hanson.
The family would like to send out a thank you to all the caregivers and staff at The Willows and all the doctors, nurses and Hospice who provided care.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 30, 2026 at the Wapello LDS Church. The family will meet with friends prior to the service, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
