Glen Carbon, Illinois - Harvey Allen Schoeber, age 81, of Glen Carbon, IL, passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at 10:50 pm due to complications from Lewy-body dementia. Harvey was born November 3, 1939, in Alton, IL, the son of the late Henry & Minnie (nee Meyer) Schoeber. Besides his parents, Harvey was preceded in death by his wife Judy Schoeber and his sister-in-law, Lois Schoeber. He was a 1957 graduate of Edwardsville High School and attended Ranken Trade School. He served in the US Army & the reserves. Harvey was employed as an auto body technician for 42 years at Butler Chevrolet & Four Flags in Edwardsville. He was a member of District 9, I.A. of M. & A.W. Harvey was an avid golfer and loved tinkering with his J.D. tractor. He also enjoyed swing dancing & was a former member of M.U.S.I.C. in Collinsville. His laid-back attitude & fun laugh made him a pleasure to be with. Harvey is survived by his wife, Jane (Schrempp) Lugge Schoeber, whom he married May 24, 1997; two children, Allen Schoeber of Worden, IL & Lynette (Ryan) Gasser of Frankenmuth, MI; four step-children, Donald (Tami) Lugge of Freeburg, IL, Douglas (Jill) Lugge of Millstadt, IL, James (Laura) Lugge of Stoughton, WI, & Margie (Jim) Schrock of Colorado Springs, CO; 15 grandchildren, Brett Hanner of St. Charles, MO, Abbey Torigliatto (Michael Whitlock) of Fosterburg, IL, Tara Lugge (Ryan Ebberle) of Freeburg, IL, Taylor (Molly) Lugge of Port Charlotte, FL, Collin Goveia of Freeburg, IL, Alicia Lugge, Dcn. Thomas Lugge, Robert Lugge, Olivia Lugge, all of Millstadt, IL, Amanda (Alex) Staffier of Bethesda, MD, Becca (Nate) Ladsten of Muckwanago, WI, Melissa (Don) Meyer of Blue Mounds, WI, Kate Schrock, Anne Schrock, & Grace Schrock, all of Colorado Springs, CO; 10 great grandchildren, MJ, Bryce, Layla, Joey, Finn, Michael, Sunny, Haley, Baby Eberle, & Baby Meyer due in October; a brother, Eldon Schoeber of Collinsville, IL; a former spouse, Barbara Schoeber; and many nieces, nephews, & friends. A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 29, 2021, from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Hamel. A funeral service will be on Monday, August 30, 2021, at 10:30 am at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Hamel with Rev. Allen Reiter presiding. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, all attendees are required to wear a mask. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. John's Community Care, 222 Goeth Ave., Collinsville, IL, where Harvey received excellent care or the Alzheimer's Association.
