Judith Meyer Obituary

Judith "Judy" Ann Meyer, nee Wottowa, age 81, of Orlando, Florida passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 22, 2025. Her last days were spent surrounded by her family and friends. She was born in Belleville, Illinois the daughter of Lee and Ruth Wottowa. She moved to Central Florida in 1985 from Granite City, IL. She was an insurance underwriter for Marsh & McClennan in St. Louis, MO for many years and later became a Candle Sales Representative for Trinity Church Supply.

Judy was preceded in death by her loving husband August C. "Keet" Meyer in 2003, sister & brother-in-law, Marilyn & Ken Wacholtz, brother Donald in infancy, nephews Chris Wottowa, Mark and Kyle Wacholtz. She was also preceded in death by bonus family members through Keet-Ken and Sandy Meyer, Ken Meyer, Jr., Tim & Marynell Meyer.

Judy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Karen and David Siegel; grandchildren Nathan and Leah; her brother: Ralph Wottowa and his wife Carolyn, nieces Michelle, Denise and Mandy and nephew Kevin; and aunts Rose (the late Ed) Wottowa and Peggy (the late Jack) Wottowa. Judy is also survived by bonus family members through Keet including stepson George Meyer; grandchildren Ted (Natalie) Meyer, Susan (Jason) Scott, Deann (Bill) Roach, Dona (widow of [Ken Meyer, Jr.]), and great grandchildren Henrik, William, Colin, Elizabeth, Ryan, Emily, Nick, Jordan, Shelby and Kasey. She was also "Grandma Judy" to many especially: Brenic, Andrew, Joseph, Michael, Micah and Jocelyn. Judy was very outgoing and loved being with people. She had a great sense of humor. She was very active in her church community, especially as a member of the Council of Catholic Women at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Kissimmee, FL where she organized the sale of jewelry at their annual bazaar. She also volunteered with granddaughter Leah's American Heritage Girls group and chauffeured Nathan and Leah to school and many activities over the years. She touched so many lives in her 81 years. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Services were held at her parish in Kissimmee, Fla.

Locally, a Celebration of Life for Judy will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. The family will receive friends from 10 am – Noon, at St. Henry Catholic Church, 5315 W. Main St., Belleville, Ill. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Noon, with Fr. Kenneth York presiding. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery, 10101 W. Main St., Belleville, Ill.
