K. Baxmeyer Obituary
K. Richard "Boxy" Baxmeyer, 79, of Waterloo, Ill., died July 24, 2017, in Waterloo, Ill. He was born July 29, 1937, in Waterloo, Ill.
Boxy was the founder of Baxmeyer Construction, Inc. in 1959. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local 520 for over 50 years and was also a member of the Teamsters Local 50. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast , loved hunting, wildlife, and NASCAR racing. Last but not least, he loved to move the earth.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Frances Baxmeyer, nee Weber; daughter, Kimberly Strong; daughter-in-law, Kathy Baxmeyer; grandson, Kadin Baxmeyer; parents, Richard J. and Lucille Baxmeyer, nee Mertz; and a brother, Nelson Baxmeyer.
Surviving are his children, James Baxmeyer, David (Valerie) Baxmeyer, John Baxmeyer, and Dennis (Heather) Baxmeyer; step-son Jim Pagliai; son-in-law, Roger Strong; grandchildren, Natalie (Chad) Taake, Dee Dee (Derrick) Gregson, Nathan, Nicole, and Kelli Strong, Erynn, Kirsten, Paige and Skylar Baxmeyer, Keegan Baxmeyer, Nola, Kendal, and Koen Baxmeyer; great-grandchildren, Ayla and Alyvia Strong, Holly, Henry, and Elise Gregson, Bode, and Mia Taake and Maverick Strong; in-laws; nieces; nephews; cousins; and numerous friends and acquaintances.
As an expression of sympathy the family prefers memorial contributions to Hope Christian Church Food Pantry
or Family Wishes.
Visitation: Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2017, and from 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday, July 29, 2017, at Quernheim Funeral Home, Waterloo, Ill.
Funeral: Service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Quernheim Funeral Home with Pastor Darrell Jones officiating. Interment at Kolmer Memorial Cemetery in Waterloo, Ill.
