Lance Larson Obituary

Lance Larson

Lance Michael Larson, 29, of O'Fallon, Mo., completed his life on earth and went home to be with his Savior on Thursday, March 14, 2013. Lance was born on March 31, 1983, in Camarillo, Calif., to Michael and Lisa, nee Welch, Larson in O'Fallon, Mo.

As a young child, Lance loved to learn, share and help others. He enjoyed many sports, including running, basketball, baseball, and soccer. Being raised in a Christian home, Lance learned the importance of obedience to God, studying the Word, and service to others early in life.

Lance loved his family. After his love for Jesus, his former wife, Samantha, was the love of his life. He loved his children, Caleb Michael, Isaac Seth and Acadia Pearl, with all his heart, and continually prayed for them.

As a beloved son of Mike and Lisa, Lance was a true blessing in so many ways. As the older brother of Luke of Wright City, Mo., and Lianna of Dalian, China, he was caring, protective and a best friend.

He treasured the conversations with his grandmothers, Marilyn Welch of Mascoutah, Ill., and Mary Lou Larson of Decatur, Ill.; as well as his late grandfathers, Robert Welch and Darrell Larson; hearing stories of their past and learning from their experiences.

Many wonderful times were spent in Mascoutah, Ill., with his aunts and uncles, Laurie and Rich Wager, Lynnette and Bubby Hinkle, Rob and Lori Welch; cousins, Laurisa and Nick, Bethany, Austin, Logan, Tycen, Brendan and Nathan; great-aunts, Annette Grove, Jean Riess and June Riess; and other close relatives and friends.

Lance's elementary years were spent at Tyro Christian School, Tyro, Kan., and Kingdom Christian Academy, St. Ann, Mo. He graduated from Roanoke Christian Schools, Roanoke, Va., Liberty University, Lynchburg, Va., and was a student at Franklin Pierce University, Concord, N.H.

God was an important part of Lance's life, and his desire was to share the message of Christ with those around him. As a young man, Lance was blessed with the ability to talk and listen with people of all ages and walks of life. He willingly shared what he had with others and opened his heart to all.

Memorial gifts may be made to The Lance Larson Memorial Fund, which has been set up at the Bank of Old Monroe. Family and friends are invited to sign the on-line guest registry at www.mccoyblossomfh.com

Continued thoughts and prayers for your family. I can still see Lance in my memories of him playing soccer and basketball with his KCA elementary team, or jogging with his dad. Love and hugs.

We will remember Lance as a young man who was greatly loved and trained up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord by his wonderful parents, teachers and Christian leaders. He was blessed and a blessing. We look back on Kingdom Christian Academy days with fondness and happy memories of which Lance was a part. Grace, peace, comfort and strength to all his loved ones.
