Leona Jung
Leona C. Jung, 92, of Anthem, Ariz., and formerly of St. Rose, Ill., born March 21, 1916, passed peacefully Thursday Feb. 19, 2009.
Mrs. Jung was a homemaker, loved cooking and gardening, and in her later years loved visiting her children and grandchildren.
Leona was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence E. Jung, whom she married on June 14, 1939, in St. Rose, Ill.; an infant daughter, Marilyn F. Jung; a son, Clarence A. Jung; parents, John and Catherine, nee Tebbe, Diekmann; brother, John Diekmann; sisters, Margaret Rehkemper, Elizabeth Vosholler, Sophie Lyons, Frieda Frohn, Anna Timmermann and Johanna Diekmann.
Surviving are her daughters, Christine J. (Tom) Thomas, of Gilbert Ariz., Roselyn (Richard) Hustedde of Breese, Ill., Helen J. Beswick of Anthem Ariz., Carolyn H. (Sam) Bravata of Grand Rapids Mich.; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Henrietta Rakers of Trenton, Ill.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to Hospice of the Valley, 2122 E. Highland Ave., 100 Phoenix Ariz., 85016-4740 or St. Jude Children's Hospital. Expressions of sympathy can be sent to www.mossfuneralhome.com

Funeral: A Memorial Mass in honor of her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday March 21, 2009, at St. Rose Catholic Church in St. Rose, Ill., with Fr. Edward Schaefer officiating. Interment will be in St. Rose Cemetery in St. Rose, Ill.
