Leonard Pagliaro

Leonard "Lenny" Pagliaro, 94, of Fairview Heights, Ill., formerly of Winter Park, Fla., born April 3, 1919, in New York, N.Y., passed away peacefully at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at Eden Village Care Center in Glen Carbon, Ill.

A first generation American, Lenny proudly served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and later the U.S. Air Force, and was a World War II veteran, having seen combat in both the European and Pacific theater, retiring in 1962. After his retirement, he was a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. He was married for 56 wonderful years to his loving wife, Phyllis, nee Thompson, who passed away in 2012. He enjoyed collecting, repairing, and selling antique clocks, and was a member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors (NAWCC).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Giovanni Battista and Rosaria, nee Panebianco, Pagliaro, who both emigrated from Italy.

Surviving are his three children, Marc (Tokae) Pagliaro of Fairview Heights, Ill., Tana (Jim) Reagan of Herndon, Va., and Noel (Daryl) Wier of Orlando, Fla.; two grandchildren, Jackie and Jimmy Reagan; his sister, Anne Gaetano of Port Charlotte, Fla.; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral: A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fairview Heights, Ill. Military funeral honors will be provided at Arlington National Cemetery later this year.
