Libby Rittmeyer Obituary
Libby May Rittmeyer, 14, of Belleville, Ill., born September 13, 2002, in Maryville, Ill., died Friday, February 17, 2017, in Belleville, Ill.
Libby's intellect and love of learning placed her in advanced classes. She was excited about taking honors classes in high school next year. Libby was passionate about animals and became a vegetarian to support her views. She stood steadfast in her convictions and allowed her compassion to guide her decisions. Libby had a shining spirit that brought light to all she did and to everyone around her. She was taken too soon and will always be in our thoughts.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Shanna Rowe; and a cousin, Dalton Clark.
Surviving are her parents, Jeff and Megan, nee Rowe, Rittmeyer; her grandparents, Stan (Randee) Rittmeyer of Belleville, Ill., and Maxine Shevlin of Sanibel, Fla.; four aunts, Amy Rittmeyer of Belleville, Ill., Maureen (James Jr.) Seiber of Collinsville, Ill., Bridget (David) Van Alstine of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Kim Krummrich of Belleville, Ill.; and two cousins, Andrew and Jack Seiber.
Memorials may be made to the Belleville Area Humane Society. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.
Visitation: Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill.
Funeral: Private family services will be held at a later date.

I can't believe that it has almost been a year. I still text you all the time to keep you posted about me and our other friends. I'm sure I'm not the only one though. Many people miss you here on Earth, we like to believe that you are still here watching over us. It's been a rough year here without hearing your voice or seeing your smile outside of the pictures you left here in my phone to cherish. You were someone I could talk to who would get me and made me feel better on a bad day. I guess I have to thank you for the time I knew you and got to know you for the beautiful person you truly are. SO thank you Libby may for all of the time we had together as friends. I truly miss you. So fly high angel. WE know you deserve to.

Our family did not know Libby, but my sons friend knew Libby very well. The 8th grade class at Zion Lutheran School is wearing purple today in honor of Libby. There are many families you do not know who are praying for your entire family. Please accept our condolences for your loss.
