Vena Hobbs Obituary

Vena Lenore Hobbs was born in Arkansas to Benjamin and Ada Hall. She was the second child of four. She married her best friend Troy Eli Hobbs on June 5, 1935. They had two sons, Troy Richard and Danny Michael.
She loved to paint, read, and bottle hunt, play cards and enjoyed every moment with her family and friends. She was the Armona Lions Club mother of the year in 1988. She was also one of the founders of the Armona Senior center where she loved to go and have lunch and visit with friends and listen to music. She was the oldest living member of the United Methodist Church in Armona and was heavily involved in the luncheons every month for many years. She also enjoyed Daffodil Days with the American Cancer Society.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Troy (1985) her two sons, and a sister and brother. She is survived by her daughter in law Darlene, granddaughter Lori Draper (Danny), Grandson Erik Hobbs (Sylvia) granddaughters Kim and many Hobbs. She had five grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren. Also a sister Helen Jean Arend of Fresno Ca.
A Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 22, 2016, 5:00-7:00 pm at People's Funeral Chapel, 501 N Douty St, Hanford, CA. A Graveside service will be held Thursday, June 23, 2016, 10:30 am at Grangeville Cemetery, 10428 14th Ave, Armona, CA.
Family and Friends are invited to view Vena's legacy at www.peoplesfuneralchapel.com and send condolences to the family. These condolences will later be added to a keepsake book for the family.
