Marcella "Marcie" Weber

September 5, 1930 - February 27, 2024

Oakdale, Illinois - Mrs. Marcella "Marcie" Weber, 93, of Lively Grove, IL, formerly of New Athens, IL, born September 5, 1930, in Plum Hill Township, passed away on Tuesday February 27, 2024, at the Freeburg Care Center in Freeburg, IL. She was a member of St. Agatha Catholic Church and a member of St. Agatha's Women's Club. She loved spending time with her family and going to various school and sports activities with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Weber was a 1949 graduate of Okawville High School and was a regular attendee of most all of their class reunions.

Marcie was preceded in death by her parents - Oswald and Clara (Mittendorf) Hoelscher, her beloved husband - Alan Lee Weber, whom she married on April 11, 1953, in St. Louis, MO, and who passed away on July 2, 2009, one grandson - Blake Alan Weber, one brother - Ralph Hoelscher, one sister - Loraine Brock, two brothers-in-law - Ray Buescher and Melvern Weber.

She is survived by her children - Cheryl (David) Hentges of Lively Grove, IL Craig (Linda) Weber of New Athens, IL, Terry (Diane) Weber of Okawville, IL and Carol (Anthony) Gilpin of Evansville, IL, ten grandchildren - Todd (Natasha Giesler) Hentges, Codi (Eric Bowlin) Deffenbaugh, Kelsey (Jeremy) Smith, Morgan Weber (Juan Garcia), Nicholas Weber, Laura Weber, Rachael Gilpin, Aneliesa Gilpin, Clay Gilpin and Nathaniel Gilpin, five great-grandchildren - Tyler, Blake and Cole Deffenbaugh, Hudson Bowlin and Raelynn Smith, one sister - Elaine (Howard) Unger, two sisters-in-law - Celeste Buescher and Evelyn Weber and one brother-in-law - Roger Weber and many nieces and nephews

Memorials may be made to the Activities Dept. at Freeburg Care Center, Hospice of So. Illinois or to the St. Agatha School Endowment Fund.

Visitation: 4 - 7 p.m. on Friday March 1, 2024, at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL and again from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. on Saturday March 2, 2024, at St. Agatha Catholic Church in New Athens, IL.

Funeral: Mass of Christian burial will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday March 2, 2024, at St. Agatha Catholic Church in New Athens, IL with Fr. Von Deeke officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery in New Athens, IL
