Belleville, Illinois - Marvin A. Lanxon, 86, of Belleville, IL, born March 3, 1935, in Belleville, IL, died Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Barbara F. Lanxon, nee Taylor, whom he married on June 28, 1956, and who died on December 1, 2010; and his parents, Alfred and Lydia, nee Fietsam, Lanxon.
Marv retired after a 40-year career as a design engineer, first for McDonnell Douglas, then Emerson Electric and Boeing. He was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus, the Loyal Order of Moose, and St. Augustine of Canterbury Church. For enjoyment, he loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing with his family and close friends. Marv was a devoted sports fan, always catching local football, volleyball, basketball, baseball, and softball games. He was particularly proud when watching his children and grandchildren compete.
He is survived by four sons, Michael (Angie) Lanxon of O'Fallon, IL, Steven (Janet) Lanxon of Highland, IL, Scott (Alyce) Lanxon, and Mark (Sarah) Lanxon, both of Belleville, IL; ten grandchildren, Patricia (Brian) Amann, David Lanxon, Kendra Lanxon (fiancé Matt Hillman), Brett (Ronnie) Lanxon, Derek (Amanda) Lanxon, Danielle Lanxon, Kristin (Greg) Triplett, Katelyn (Jon) Hayes, Jack Lanxon, and William Lanxon; four step-grandchildren, Kyle (Amy) Warren, Riley (Michelle) Warren, Kyle Hassenplug, and Luke (Marisa) Hassenplug; eight great-grandchildren, Jack, Drew, Nick, and Grace Amann, Amelia, Erin, and Izabella Hillman, and Benjamin Lanxon; a brother-in-law, Jerry (Kathleen) Taylor; a sister-in-law, Beverly (Elliot) Laramie; and nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL. Masks are required.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Msgr. William McGhee officiating. Masks are required.
Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
