Belleville, Illinois - Michael Casimir Valentin, age 78, of Fairview Heights, IL, passed away February 3, 2023, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL. He was born on November 15, 1944, in Frederick, OK, the son of Alfred and Virginia, nee Forrester, Valentin.
Mike was a graduate of Assumption High School. He worked at Spectrulite Consortium until his retirement in 2008. He looked forward to Friday night dinners with family and close friends. He also enjoyed trips to the casino, to Steak N' Shake with his retired friends, and watching Wednesday night corkball at Swansea Improvement Hall.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Dana Nichols; and brothers-in-law, Victor Sartory and Dwight Nichols.
He is survived by his siblings, Vicki Sartory and Guy (Linda) Valentin; his nephews, Matt (Amy) and Craig Nichols; his nieces, Brooke (Cedric) de Schietere, Blair (Joe) Glauber, Kara (Scott) Battas, and Taylor Valentin (Will) Hack; his great nieces, Stephanie, Jenna, Victoria, Brynn, Charlotte, Raelyn, and Britt; his great nephews, Jason, Joseph, Beau, James, Ezra, and Baer; and many other loving relatives and friends.
Memorial donations can be made to Partners for Pets Humane Society in St. Jacob, IL.

Family and friends are welcome to gather in Mike's honor at TR's Place, Belleville, IL, on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 4 p.m. to celebrate his life.
