Mike Salanik Obituary
Mike Salanik, 87, of Belleville, Ill., born Nov. 15, 1918, in East St. Louis, Ill., died on Monday, Feb. 20, 2006, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Ill.
Mike was a retired millwright from Cerro Copper & Brass in Sauget, Ill., where he worked for 27 years. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Geneva M., nee Rowe, Salanik; his son, David Salanik; his parents, George and Jystina, nee Puscar, Salanik; all of his brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Johnston; two sons, John (Cris) Salanik of Swansea, Ill., and Mark (Olivia) Salanik of Granite City, Ill.; four grandchildren, Rachel, Matthew and Sarah Salanik, Geneva Mae Salanik; daughter-in-law, Marianne Salanik of Bridgewater, N.J.
Visitation: Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21 , 2006, at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2006, at Kassly Mortuary Chapel, Fairview Heights, Ill. Interment will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.
