Patrick McGowan Obituary
Patrick Floyd McGowan Sr., 69, of Granite City, Ill., born Sept. 6, 1940, in Granite City, Ill., died on Friday, Jan. 22, 2010, at his residence.
He was preceded in death by his son, Patrick McGowan Jr.; his parents, Floyd and Agnes, nee Eveland, McGowan; and his brother, Thomas McGowan.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Rosa, nee Romero, McGowan; his children, Cynthia Smith of Granite City, Ill., Patricia Barker of Granite City, Ill., Mary (Edgar) Edwards of Granite City, Ill., Thomas (Aimee) McGowan, of Fairview Heights, Ill., Joseph (Kathy) McGowan of Edwardsville, Ill., and John McGowan of Granite City, Ill.; five granddaughters, Amy, Samantha, Ashley, Simone and Amelia; six grandsons, Patrick III, Jacob, Blake, Brock, Nathaniel and Christian Patrick; his great grandchildren, Paige, Jasmine, Drake, Carmen and Carson; and his sister, Mary Ann Goode of Granite City, Ill.
Memorials may be made to Holy Family Church in the form of masses or to Gateway Regional Hospice. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.kasslyfuneral.com.
Visitation: Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Granite City, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Granite City, Ill., with Father Ray Schultz officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Edwardsville, Ill.

I am so sorry to hear of Pat's passing. I remember him as my "big" cousin. When we would got to visit Grandma on Sundays, we usually stopped by to see Uncle Floyd and all of his gang. Mom was so fond of her nephew! Sorry I live so far away and cannot attend the service. My condolences to all of you.
