Patrick Rogers Obituary
Patrick W. Rogers, 36, of Smithton, Ill., born on Dec. 13, 1978, in Belleville, Ill., died Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015, at Red Bud Hospital, Red Bud, Ill.
Patrick graduated from Belleville East High School and earned his associate's degree from Lincoln College. He was a boilermaker for Local 363. He loved his job and was a very hard worker helping out whenever he could. Patrick loved his family, co-workers, grilling, cooking, dogs, traveling, and the St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Blues and the Chicago Bears.
Patrick was a very generous man and an amazing father. He was proud of his son and all of his accomplishments so far. He lit up every room he walked into and never met a stranger and could find common ground with anyone. He was a practical joker who couldn't be outdone.
Patrick is survived by his wife, Genevieve Clare, nee LeChien, Rogers; his son, Waylon William Rogers at home; his parents, William and Kate, nee Willey, Rogers of Fairview Heights, Ill.; his brother, William G. Rogers (Kira Wright) of Belleville, Ill.; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jack and Nancy LeChien of Belleville, Ill.; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Kelly LeChien of Belleville, Ill.; and his nieces and nephew, Abbey, Jack and Emilie LeChien of Belleville, Ill. Patrick is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins who loved him dearly.
Memorials may be made to the Patrick Rogers Family Fund.

Visitation: Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015, at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, Ill.
Funeral: A funeral procession will leave Kassly Mortuary in Fairview Heights, Ill., at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015, for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, Belleville, Ill., with Msgr. William McGhee officiating. Interment will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.

Genevieve: I was so incredibly shocked and saddened to learn of the loss of your dear husband, Patrick. There are never adequate words for times like these in our lives, and I am truly at a loss to express the depth of my sorrow for you, your son, and all of the family. Bill,Kate,and Family. My heart breaks for all of you. I have continued to pray for your entire family since I heard of your loss. I pray that Gods sends you some comfort.
I never met your son Kate, but the wonderful tributes that I have read,certainly shows what a wonderful man you and Bill raised.

I'm sorry - does not work. What you now have to endure is every parents worse nightmare. I'm praying along with so many of your friends and family to help you find a way to continue on. You have the right to be mad, angry, non-believer - it all makes sense when a life is cut so short. It's been a joy watching your journey with little Waylon. He reminds me of Patrick when he was little. If there is one thing -you have GREAT memories of your loving son. Hold Waylon close and remind him of his wonderful Dad ever chance you get. Patrick was one of my closest friends during the time he spent here in Chicago. He was always there for me and he would give any of his friends the shirt off his back. One of the best men I have ever known. He will be dearly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. I will never forget you. Love you man....Rest in Peace brother!
