Robert Cooley Sr.

Robert W. Cooley Sr., 64, of Sparta, Ill., formerly of Cahokia, Ill., born on May 11, 1951, in St. Louis, Mo., passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2016, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Cooley was formerly employed by Keisel Oil Company of St. Louis, Mo. He was an avid fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Cooley, nee Smith; and sister-in-law, Nancy Cooley.

Surviving are his children, Rushell A. Pranger of Sparta, Ill., and Robert Cooley Jr. of Caseyville, Ill.; his siblings, Ralph Cooley of Columbia, Ill., Donny Cooley of St. Louis, Mo., Larry Cooley of Cahokia, Ill., David (Gail) Cooley of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Doyle (JoAnn) Cooley of O'Fallon, Mo., Patty (Guy) Meadows of Doniphan, Mo., Kathy (Gary) Kerperian of Baldwin, Ill., Gail (Butch) Turner of Lake Ozark, Mo., and Mary Glenda Shelton of Cahokia, Ill.; three grandchildren, Zachary, Lucas and Isaiah; his former wife, Sherry Cooley-Breithaupt. He was a dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend.

Visitation: A memorial service gathering will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Braun Colonial Funeral Home, Cahokia, Ill.

Funeral: Services will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2016, at the funeral home with Reverend Garvin Fisher officiating. Private cremation was held.
