Robert Ewen Obituary
Robert William Ewen, 82, of Belleville, Ill., born Oct. 1, 1931, in Michael, Ill., died Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Ill.
Mr. Ewen was an over-the-road truck driver for 25 years before his retirement. He was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, Belleville, Ill. Robert was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert D. Ewen; his parents, William H. and Dorothy E., nee Bair, Ewen; and a brother, Dale Ewen.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Myra L., nee Fritz, Ewen, whom he married on Nov. 11, 1961; a son, Gregory S. Ewen of Atlanta, Ga.; four daughters, Margo (Matthew) Pidgeon of Glen Ellyn, Ill., Stephanie Flake of Smithton, Ill., Diana (Richard) Haar of Belleville, Ill., and Cynthia (Todd) Waterson of Belleville, Ill.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, William (Patricia) Ewen of Montrose, Colo.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill., with Deacon Matthew Pidgeon officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.

myra and family im so sorry for loosing bob unexpectedly my boys and I are grieving with you all, he was a great neighbor I will miss our cheat chat over the fence, please accept our deepest sympathy may god give peace and comport to all the family especially myra may god give you extra strength to endure the pain your going trough right now.
